Granny squares are ubiquitous, happily so, but really a welcome surprise on this witty sweater. Obviously you can follow the instructions exactly and use the colours recommended; but we think it would be a splendid way to use up (cough) oddments, too (and think of the looks you could get with variegates!). The back is the plain stitch pattern; only the front has the motifs. Armholes are indented once for a modified drop shoulder, and sleeves have a slight cap.
