Says helpful Mills: "The yoke and sleeves are worked from side-to-side in two pieces, each piece beginning at the cuff and ending in the center of the body. Stitches for the gathered lower body are picked up along the edge of the assembled yoke, then worked downwards in one piece to the lower edge." Which is fun to do, of course, and gives a great fresh pinafore-kind-of-look. If you're unsure about your knitting skills, this is a great way to use only knit and purl stitches to make something that looks very intriguing.
