A stunning scarf, calm and beautifully composed. You work it lengthwise, which we find actually more appealing than working across the width-- far fewer turnings of the work. The garter lace border pattern changes into an eyelet leaf pattern very symmetrically, and then into some reverse st st ridges; the overall impression is one of many layers of exquisite fabric, but of course it really only is one piece. Marvellously versatile, it carries its own air of mystery and imagination.
