These stunning pieces are really very simple, and depend entirely on the quality and colour of their yarns for their impact. Montera is still gloriously around; Artisan Wool (no longer available) was a smooth 3-ply 90% wool, 10% alpaca that knit up to the same weight (16 sts=4"/10cm on a 5.5mm/US9). So now you can use all Montera, or La Gran Mohair, or whatever combination of colour and texture will give you this wealth of sensuality. The yoke sweater is entirely knit in the round; the sweater with embroidery is knit flat with no shaping except at the front neck.
