This plant is the wild cousin to both blackberries and raspberries, and I have it on good authority that the fruit tastes just as good as you might expect. I debated including any food plants in this collection. There are so many of them that they could easily demand their own project if not carefully watched. But this plant is not cultivated commercially, and it seemed too charming to leave out. The socks echo the simple, almost sparse petals of the flower. The design is easy to work, despite its impressive appearance.
This is an individual pattern from the book The Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet.
