Says Newton: "Each half of the body is worked in one piece beginning at the sleeve cuff and ending at center back where the live stitches are grafted together. After the both halves of the body have been finished and the sleeve and side seams sewn, the lower edge ribbing is picked up along the lower edge of the body and worked downwards." So the construction is major fun, and the shawl collar is shaped with wrapped short rows, and you're exposed to multiple techniques all at once (the bodice is a slip-stitch pattern)-- and the result is something that's cozy, welcoming, and fascinating.
