Here is a wonderful introduction to the Dale of Norway catalogue, both in terms of style and construction. Vest or cardigan, you work in the round to the armholes, then divide for front and back and work flat from there up (no steeking!). Sleeves are worked in the round and have flat caps. The only tricky bit might be centering the charted pattern on the sleeves, but you're clever, and can manage that; the pattern also kindly has you minimize cable splay at the cap, too. It's a splendid design, beautiful and composed, and works equally well on boys or girls. From Dale of Norway Book 125.
