This slipper pattern seems definitely inspired by the Anatolian-influenced work of Anna Zilboorg. As such, it has an elegance and Eastern mystery about it it rare in such projects (Lacey's other slipper homage to the East can be found here; they are essentially the same construction, with only the motif changing). The top instep pattern is repeated on the sole. These makes beautiful gifts, and worked in precious fibres are a magnificent treat for hardworking feet.
