Surely somewhere there is a phrasebook with "simple drama" adorned with this design's picture. It's a fantastic, sweeping, cheeky (check out the back view!) piece. The st st upper body is quite fitted, with set-in sleeves and increases up from the waist; the lower 'skirts' are great swaths of double moss stitch. The grand 2 x 2 ribbed borders are made in two pieces and sewn onto each of the left and right fronts to meet at the back neck. The whole thing is but the simplest exercise in combining knitting and purling, but the visual impact is tremendous.
