What we especially love about this cardi is that it's interesting to work, and the eyelets in the yoke do not make it look specifically feminine at all; in combination with the garter ridges and 1 x 1 rib, it just all looks geometric. Which is perfect for boys or girls, and also to show off just about any style of worsted weight (10 ply) yarn. The body is knit in one piece from the hem up, then you join in the sleeves (which are knit flat) and finish the yoke all at once. Graft underarms, sew sleeve seams, and you're done.
