A thoroughbred. We feel the same way gazing at this that a horse breeder would feel about Secretariat: that it's magnificent, and not one tiny thing could be added or removed to improve upon it. Rosner's own retail background shows in her choice of a soft chunky yarn (for speed and coziness); her reliance on just the simplest knit and purl stitches; and her excellent tailoring-- shoulder, back neck, and waist are all shaped. The collar and front bands (how we love them, and the st st/rev st st welts!) are worked after the fact and shaped with wrapped short rows. You can see the effect of the whole thing-- it's just wonderful. But all it is, is knits and purls. Easy. Rosner's Michelin Hat would be a nice complement, especially if you worked its crown in the double moss stitch of the cardigan body.
