In silhouette, it's casual: (straight) drop shoulders, no armhole shaping, flat sleeve caps. In style, it's a little businesslike, with its conservative collar at a jewel neck. But the overall fabric and tiny buttons and buttonbands contradict all that. These elements are intensely feminine. The 12-row lacy pattern scallops naturally at the hem and cuffs over just a ridge of garter stitch; the collar treatment ends with a little more garter stitch to give a straighter edge. There are few occasions where you couldn't wear this beautiful piece.
