1491 Raglan Jacket and Purse
WEB EXCLUSIVE
Quite an extraordinary jacket, and not just because it has one of the largest st st gauges we've ever seen. The body is knit in one piece to the armholes, where the sleeves (knit flat) are joined in and the yoke is finished all at once, with raglan shaping. After the yoke is completed, you increase sharply in one row and work the garter stitch collar. In this way, you have only the underarm and sleeve seams to sew before the piece is completed. The artfulness is in the adroit use of colour and texture, and the majesty of the yarn itself.
