1484 One Piece Open Cardigan
WEB EXCLUSIVE

We believe it was Lily Chin who first pioneered 'ribbles', i.e., reversible ribbed cables. Their beauty and utility are obvious here. In a cardigan worn open, you want the inside fronts of the garment to be as inviting as the outside. Porter takes full advantage of this (look at the left front of the garment close to the cupboard door), and pulls her theme together with a gorgeous 1 x 1 ribbed hem and sideways ribbed cuffs. Fascinating construction, too, with back and front knitted together as one piece, and then stitches grafted together at the back (see schematic).
