Vollick is so modest. This is her description of one of the most appealing Aran sweaters for children we've seen, "Callum is a No-Sew, Multidirectional Cabled Pullover." As is her generous wont, she's created Callum in your choice of two machine washable yet Aran-style appropriate yarns, both readily available.
"Callum begins at the neckband with a provisional cast on to ensure that the neckband won't be too tight to pull over the wee one’s head; it is very stretchy and then fits nicely around the neck when being worn. The shoulders and the yoke sections are worked in panels, then the body and the sleeves are worked in the round. There are no seams, just picked up stitches along the sides of the panels. The sweater is worked in all directions of the compass: yes, the journey is a bit of a challenge but it is interesting, fun & looks wonderful on a young child, boy or girl."
The samples are worked in Patons Canadiana and Patons Decor Worsted Weight yarn. Cables are written out only, not charted.
