7 Weekend

Weekend is a medium sized throw or blanket that really can be made in just one weekend! Using just 4 skeins of Colinette Caligraphy, a super bulky yet surprisingly lightweight yarn, this knit is fantastic for instant gratification and last minute gifts alike. The centre panel of knotted openwork emphasizes the slubby texture of this yarn, and as each knot is formed during just one row, the varigated yarn is able to create an attractive spotted effect. The throw is bordered in linen stitch, which adds structure and form to this area of wear and tear.

The beautiful Salted Caper colourway reminds me of lazy days spent on the freshwater beaches of the Firth of Forth during my university days, where a snug blanket is needed to fend off those cold Scottish winds!
