Well, here's a great example of "It's a redingote/bolero hybrid!" Unexpected, but a deliciously stylish and sexy cardigan. There's waist shaping at the sides in addition to the petal front, and beautifully set-in sleeves, and a scoop neck to frame whatever you wear under it. Great in any style of yarn, and comparatively easy to knit if you can keep track of simultaneous front and side shaping (which of course you can).
