Terribly, marvellously French, and yet it's hard to make something easier to knit. The back and two fronts are knit separately, in the geometric shapes you see in the schematic; then you sew the shoulders together, pick up the sleeves from the body, and knit down flat to the cuff. Which leaves underarm and side seams to sew-- that's it. Done in moss stitch throughout. The moss stitch instructions are mysteriously absent, but here it is. On an uneven number of stitches, as throughout here: Row 1, *k1, p1; repeat from * to last st, k1. On Row 2, purl the knits and knit the purls. Repeat these two rows. The resulting fabric will have no curl and a beautiful finish, perhaps reminding you of Persian lamb. And the resulting jacket will look like it cost a fortune in a boutique; you will be laughing up your manche (fr: sleeve).
Measurements on schematic are in centimetres.
