With many waterfall-style jackets, you knit acres of fabric, only to look sloppy floppy. Not with this one. It's ingeniously tailored: the saddle shoulders have extensions that meet at the back neck to give structure to the piece. The back and fronts are actually trim pieces of fabric. The lacy border is knitted in three segments (back and fronts) after the fact; it's comically simple--1 row of instructions-- and goes quickly. Choose a 3/4 or full sleeve length. We love the delicate little eyelet edging along the armhole, meant to echo the border.
