So often we invoke Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn. But the talented Dorothy Malone (see Written on the Wind) is being neglected. So here is what Ms. Malone would have worn in a film when she wanted to look especially classy: a cropped cardi (show off that waist!) with a deep neck (show off that chest!)-- but shown with a starry lace fabric detail at the shoulders, to drag the eye upward. Also to remind the onlooker that to be female is not only to be pounceable, but to be worshipped; this design covers both thoughts. Set-in sleeves; work ribbed buttonbands up from stitches on hold at hem, to join at back neck.
