This gorgeous piece unites simplicity of silhouette with breathtaking embellishment. The front and back are worked similarly, with the sleeves built out from the sides: after you cast off the shoulders together, you just sew the side and underarm seams. We saw (with relief) that the beads are added with the crochet hook method, as you go, so you don't have to string hundreds of them in advance. The result is enduringly feminine, lacy and elegant-- almost regal.
