"Unique cable gives direction to this simply structured vest. Worked in the round to the underarms, the edges are finished as the vest is knit, leaving only the shoulder seams to be joined. Deeper armholes allow for wearing with a variety of blouse styles, and a customized fit can be achieved based on the amount of ease a knitter prefers. A Chart is included for the cable stitch panel." -- Jean Clement
This is a beautifully written pattern for a striking garment. Three needle bind-off for shoulders is not sewing-- Ed.
"Celtic Cabled Slipover" was updated/revised March 2012 with additional sizing, more instruction detail, new schematic and photos.

even though I knit to gauge in the swatch, the sweater was double the desired size, even with smaller needles, permanently frogged.
