We have a lad who's extremely fussy about what he wears, but he loves stripes. So this would appear to fit the requirements of all but the girliest of girl children. Raglan sleeves are the easiest to don and doff, and that's made even easier here by the buttoned placket at the left front. Also, with this kind of different stripe patterning on the body and sleeves, it's less crucial to the look that they line up exactly. We are not suggesting that you be deliberately sloppy-- just that this piece should look more polished than most even if you're a relative newbie.
